Above all, I am picturing the history of emigration that there has been in Italy, but in other countries too, I believe, and that today causes and is in danger of causing the new generations of these Sicilians – like the Venetians, Sardinians and countless others in Europe who have undergone this process in the past – not to remember, no longer to be able to speak Sicilian, Venetian and Sardinian, respectively.
Je m’imagine surtout l’histoire de l’émigration en Italie, mais dans d’autres pays également, je crois, qui cause aujourd’hui et risque de causer l’oubli pour les nouvelles générations de Siciliens – ceci concerne aussi les Vénétiens, les Sardes et les innombrables autres peuples en Europe qui ont vécu ce processus dans le passé – du sicilien, du vénète (vénitien) et du sarde, respectivement, ainsi que leur incapacité à les parler.
