The U.S. Department of Energy acknowledged it in February when it awarded Iogen Biorefinery Partners, LLC, of Arlington, Virginia, a partnership of Iogen of Ottawa, Goldman Sachs and Royal Dutch Shell some $80 million to build a commercial plant in Shelley, Idaho, to produce 18 million gallons a year of ethanol from 700 tons a day of straw, corn stover and switchgrass.
