Whereas there are at present no specific Community rules governing aromatized wines, aromatized wine-based drinks and aromatized wine-product coktails hereinafter called 'aromatized drinks', in particular with regard to the difinition of such drinks and the requirements concerning their description and presentation; whereas, given the economic importance of these drinks, it is necessary, in order to assist the functioning of the common market, to lay down common provisions on this subject;
considérant que, à l'heure actuelle, aucune disposition communautaire spécifique ne vise les vins aromatisés, les boissons aromatisées à base de vin et les cocktails aromatisés de produits viti-vinicoles, ci-après dénommés « boissons aromatisées » notamment en ce qui concerne la définition de ces boissons et les prescriptions relatives à leur désignation et à leur présentation; que, compte tenu de l'importance économique de ces boissons, l'adoption de dispositions communes dans ce domaine s'impose afin de contribuer au fonctionnement du marché commun;
