The German delegation, supported by the Belgian and Danish delegations, asked the Commission, through an amendment to Directive 76/769/EEC , to draw up a ban on the marketing of the product "Navy Blue 018112" which is used to colour wool and polyamide staples, and a ban on organic compounds of zinc, in particular TBT (Tributyltin), an anti-fouling product used to prevent the proliferation of micro-organisms, plants or animals on the hulls of ships, in wood and in textiles.
