Les locomotives d’un modèle pouvant fonctionner normalement dans les deux sens, comme les blocs diesel ou les blocs électriques, ou tout genre de locomotive régulièrement affectée à un service de route obligeant à faire passer le tender en premier lieu, doivent être munies, à l’avant et à l’arrière, d’un chasse-pierres ou d’un chasse-pierres et de marchepieds combinés, sauf que, dans le cas des blocs diesel «A» et «B», l’installation de ces chasse-pierres n’est exigée qu’à l’extrémité avant des blocs «A».
