This legislation, Mr. Chairman, which was referred to committee on October 4, has two key components: the establishment of the Transportation Appeal Tribunal of Canada, and the outlining of the tribunal's jurisdiction and decision-making authorities by way of amendments to six pieces of transportation legislation—that is, the Aeronautics Act, the Railway Safety Act, the Canada Shipping Act, the Canada Transportation Act, the Marine Transportation Security Act, and Bill C-14, the Canada Shipping Act 2001.
