As regards defining the common noise indicator, LDEN, particularly to take account of different climates and cultures, the Council agreed on an LDEN indicator made up of daytime, evening and night periods of 12, 4 and 8 hours respectively, with the possibility of transferring one or two hours from the evening to either the day or night period.
