Le projet de loi C-34 comporte deux éléments clés: premièrement, la consultation du Tribunal d'appel des transports du Canada (TATC); deuxièmement, l'établissement de la compétence et des pouvoirs décisionnels du tribunal par voie de modification à six lois sur les transports, à savoir la Loi sur l'aéronautique, la Loi sur la sécurité ferroviaire, la Loi sur la marine marchande du Canada, la Loi sur les transports au Canada, la Loi sur la sûreté du transport maritime et le projet de loi C-14, Loi de 2001 sur la marine marchande du Canada.
Bill C-34 has two key components. First, the establishment of the transportation appeal tribunal of Canada and, second, the outlining of the tribunal's jurisdiction and decision-making authority by amending six pieces of transportation legislation: the Aeronautics Act, the Railway Safety Act, the Canada Shipping Act, the Canada Transportation Act, the Marine Transportation Security Act and Bill C-14, the Canada Shipping Act, 2001.
