Je pense qu'au même titre qu'il était opportun que nous nous engagions dans le cadre du NORAD il y a 50 ans, il serait bon de dire aujourd'hui que nous ne serions pas très chauds à l'idée que les Américains puissent déployer des missiles balistiques au large de la côte du Pacifique, dans le Pacifique nord au large de l'Alaska ou dans l'Atlantique nord, à l'idée qu'ils puissent intercepter des missiles balistiques intercontinentaux en approche, peut-être dans l'espace aérien canadien ou à proximité de celui-ci, sans que nous ayons notre mot à dire.
I believe that just as it was the right thing for us to engage in the Norad agreement 50 years ago, it would be the right thing for us today to say that we are not very keen on the American military releasing ballistic missiles off the Pacific coast, or in the north Pacific off Alaska, or in the north Atlantic, potentially intercepting incoming intercontinental ballistic missiles, potentially in or near Canadian airspace, without our say-so.
