En ce qui concerne la mer Méditerranée, en liaison avec la présente directive, les démarches nécessaires ont été menées en vue de l’adhésion de l’Union au protocole relatif à la protection de la mer Méditerranée contre la pollution résultant de l’exploration et de l’exploitation du plateau continental du fond de la mer et de son sous-sol (le «protocole “offshore” ») de la convention sur la protection du milieu marin et du littoral de la Méditerranée (la «convention de Barcelone»), conclue en vertu de la décision 77/585/CEE du Conseil
In relation to the Mediterranean Sea, in conjunction with this Directive, the necessary actions were undertaken for the Union to accede to the Protocol for the Protection of the Mediterranean Sea against Pollution Resulting from Exploration and Exploitation of the Continental Shelf and the Seabed and its Subsoil (‘the Offshore Protocol’) to the Convention for the Protection of the Marine Environment and the Coastal Region of the Mediterranean (‘the Barcelona Convention’), which was concluded by Council Decision 77/585/EEC
