«ballast», un appareillage de commande de lampe placé entre l’alimentation et une ou plusieurs lampes à décharge qui, par effet inductif ou capacitif ou une combinaison des deux, sert principalement à limiter à la valeur requise le courant qui traverse la ou les lampes;
