Monsieur le Président, je suis arrivé au Parlement européen il y a de cela trois ans et demi avec la ferme intention de rendre les institutions européennes à la fois plus simples à comprendre, plus efficaces et plus démocratiques, d’apporter ma contribution à la démolition des cathédrales bureaucratiques et à la simplification de l’administration.
Mr President, I joined this Parliament three and a half years ago with the firm intention of making Europe’s legislature more intelligible, more efficient and more democratic for our citizens, of helping to tear down the bureaucratic cathedrals and simplify administration.
