Faire des déclarations dans le feu d'une élection et les mettre par écrit, comme l'ont fait les libéraux dans leur Livre rouge, c'est bien beau, mais donner suite à cet engagement est la chose la plus importante qu'un gouvernement puisse faire, et ce qui compte le plus aux yeux des Canadiens si nous voulons dissiper cette méfiance qu'ils ressentent à l'égard des politiciens.
It's fine in the heat of an election to make statements and even put them in writing, as the Liberal Party did in its red book, but following through on the statement is the most important thing a government can do and the most important thing the people of Canada are looking for if we're going to change their minds about the mistrust they have of politicians.
