En raison du caractère réitéré et de l'extension de la campagne de presse menée sur ces différents sujets, caractérisée par de profondes inexactitudes et par de graves atteintes à l'image et à la réputation de l'intéressé, M. Prodi a donné mandat à ses avocats d'agir auprès des instances judiciaires compétentes afin de sauvegarder son honneur et d'obtenir un dédommagement complet pour les dommages subis jusqu'à présent, les dommages-intérêts perçus étant destinés à l'association LIBERA, Associazioni, Nomi e Numeri contro le Mafie, présidée par Don Luigi Ciotti.
Because of the repetitive and widespread nature of the press campaign on these matters, characterised by extreme inaccuracy and serious damage to the image and reputation of the person concerned, Prof. Prodi has instructed his lawyers to take action with the appropriate legal authorities to protect his good name and for the purpose of obtaining full compensation for the damage suffered until now. This compensation will be payable to the national anti-Mafia association LIBERA, Associazioni, Nomi e Numeri contro le Mafie, chaired by Father Luigi Ciotti.
