– (IT) Mr President, I would like to draw the attention of this House and the Commission to a matter which has been dealt with brilliantly in the report, a matter which is certainly less tragic than the physical violation of human rights which, I am sad to say, lies before us now, but which relates to a crucial, pivotal factor in the democratic processes of all countries and, above all – I am convinced – in the future of democracy in European and world societies: I refer to the issue of information, to a question which I feel to be central, the question of pluralism – and I will repeat this word, pluralism – of information.
