Nevertheless the Commission would not abandon its work on pension funds and, in any case, it intended to ensure compliance with the provisions of the Treaty and of Community Directives by initiating infringement proceedings against Member States whose national provisions on pension funds did not so comply, and in particular with the rules on freedom to provide services and freedom of capital movements.
