Da parte mia, vorrei da un lato richiamare l’attenzione di quest’Assemblea sul parere del Consiglio economico e sociale, che è assai interessante e potrebbe fornirci qualche lume sulle decisioni da adottare; dall’altro, sottolineare che la democrazia partecipativa funziona quando tutti – deputati al Parlamento europeo, Consiglio, organizzazioni della società civile e cittadini non organizzati, per i quali l’iniziativa dei cittadini costituisce un’opportunità – hanno un ruolo da svolgere.
I, for my part, would like to draw this House’s attention, on the one hand, to the opinion of the Economic and Social Council, which is very interesting, and which could also shed light on the decisions to be taken and, on the other hand, to stress the fact that participatory democracy works when everyone – the MEPs, the Council, civil society organisations and unorganised citizens for whom the citizens’ initiative is an opportunity – has a role to play.
