Dopo la prima rivoluzione negli anni trenta, che cambiò la lingua e istituì uno Stato laico – magari anche i paesi arabi concepissero lo Stato come un’entità in cui il potere civile è separato da quello religioso! – sembra incredibile che non comprendiamo come la Turchia stia compiendo un grande esperimento di democrazia, in contrasto con le teocrazie sempre più potenti che hanno preso piede nel mondo mussulmano.
