A livello europeo ho partecipato in un primo tempo come consulente al processo d’integrazione monetaria a partire dal 1988 (Consiglio europeo di Hannover), alle decisioni sull’avvio della terza fase dell’Unione economica e monetaria e sui paesi che ne dovessero far parte (Bruxelles, maggio 1998) fino all’introduzione della cartamoneta in euro (2002), quindi con un ruolo di primo piano ai comitati europei (Comitato monetario, Consiglio ECOFIN).
At European level I initially took part in the process of monetary integration from 1988 onwards (European Council at Hanover) in an advisory capacity, via decisions on the launch of the third stage of economic and monetary union and the group of participating nations (Brussels, May 1998), until the introduction of the euro (2002), and subsequently actively helped shape it on European committees (Monetary Committee, ECOFIN Council).
