Stresses that both the use of timber and other harvested wood products as renewable and climate-friendly raw materials on the one hand, and sustainable forest management on the other, have an important role to play in the achievement of the EU’s socio-political goals such as the energy transition, climate mitigation and adaptation, and the implementation of the Europe 2020 strategy targets and biodiversity targets; notes that lack of active forest management would be inimical to these goals;
32. souligne que tant l'utilisation du bois et des autres produits ligneux récoltés en tant que matières premières renouvelables et respectueuses du climat que la gestion forestière durable jouent un rôle important pour les objectifs sociaux de l'Union européenne, comme la transition énergétique, l'atténuation du changement climatique et l'adaptation à celui-ci, et la réalisation des objectifs de la stratégie Europe 2020 ainsi que des objectifs en matière de biodiversité; relève qu'une absence totale de gestion active des forêts irait à l'encontre desdits objectifs;
