With regard to the derogations contained in the proposal, I agree that the use of PFOS and related substances should continue to be permitted in photoresists and photographic materials, when plating with hexavalent chromium and other metals, and in hydraulic fluids, as the risks connected with these uses are acceptable since there are no equivalent alternatives and it is not certain that the toxicological profiles of the alternatives are any better.

S’agissant des dérogations contenues dans la proposition, je suis favorable à ce que l’utilisation des SPFO et des substances liées aux SPFO reste autorisée pour les résines photosensibles et les produits photographiques, pour le chromage au chrome hexavalent et autres métaux ainsi que pour les fluides hydrauliques. En effet, les risques associés sont acceptables, il n’existe pas de solution de substitution et il n’est pas certain que les profils toxicologiques des autres solutions soient meilleurs.
