– (ES) Mr President, I would like firstly to thank the High Representative for his tireless efforts in the quest for peace, and you yourself, Mr President, for your visit to the region, for its symbolism and the solidarity it demonstrated; and Commissioner Ferrero-Waldner, for the immense job that the European Commission is doing in the midst of a serious political crisis, with the factions making up the Government of National Unity now in confrontation and in the midst of an extremely serious social, economic and humanitarian crisis.
- (ES) Monsieur le Président, je tiens tout d’abord à remercier le haut-représentant pour ses efforts infatigables en faveur de la paix, ainsi que vous-même, Monsieur le Président, pour la visite que vous avez effectuée dans la région, pour son symbolisme et la solidarité dont elle témoigne, de même que la commissaire Ferrero-Waldner, pour l’immense travail que la Commission européenne réalise au milieu de cette crise politique profonde, avec les factions qui composent le gouvernement d’union nationale désormais en conflit et au beau milieu de cette très grave crise sociale, économique et humanitaire.
