(FR) For ten years, and specifically in response to the Erika and Prestige tragedies, the EU has been engaged in fundamentally combating the phenomenon of open-registry ships and sub-standard vessels, using to this end the ‘Erika I’ (March 2000) and ‘Erika II’ (December 2000) packages, with the addition of measures after the Prestige disaster.
Depuis dix ans, et notamment en réponse aux drames de l’Erika et du Prestige, l’Union a engagé un combat de fond contre la navigation de complaisance et les navires sous normes avec les paquets «Erika I» (mars 2000) et «Erika II» (décembre 2000), complétés par les mesures qui ont fait suite à l’accident du Prestige.
