I think we all understand and appreciate the importance of financial services companies – and indeed other companies – being able to trade and do business across the European Union on the basis of what is sometimes called home/host country of control, or country of origin control.

Under this agreement, the U.S. will revise the ITAR regulations to restore most of the pre-April 1999 Canadian exemptions, allowing for the licence-free-cross-border transfer for most U.S. origin controlled goods and technology.
