Je pense qu’il est insensé d’argumenter en partant de l’impact sur les consommateurs, car ceux-ci n’ont nullement profité des prix à l’importation réduits ces dernières années et lorsqu’on sait qu’une chaussure importée pour 6,50 EUR peut se vendre à 120 EUR au détail, il devient évident que rien ne peut justifier les avertissements de hausses de prix lancés par les importateurs qui pourraient, dit-on, être de l’ordre de 20 %.
I do not think it makes any sense whatever to argue on the basis of the effect on consumers, for in no way have they benefited from the reduced import prices over the past few years, and, when one considers that a shoe imported for EUR 6.50 can retail for EUR 120, it becomes clear that there is no justification whatever for the importers' warnings of price increases, which, it is claimed, will be of the order of 20%.
