Francine Lalonde propose, - Attendu les récents témoignages entendus en Comité de l'Industrie sur le projet de loi C-54, lesquels faisaient état de grandes difficultés dans son application Attendu la demande renouvelée du gouvernement du Québec de retirer le projet de loi C-54 Que le comité suspende l'examen article par article du projet de loi C-54 et demande au ministre de l'Industrie d'entreprendre des consultations avec toutes les provinces, afin de prévenir toute contestation constitutionnelle pouvant compromettre l'atteinte de ses objectifs.
Francine Lalonde moved, - Whereas witnesses were recently heard by the Standing Committee on Industry, on Bill C-54, concerning the major problems in implementing this legislation; and took into account the big application difficulties if this bill, - Whereas the Quebec government has repeated its demand that Bill C-54 be withdrawn, - That the Committee suspend Clause by Clause consideration of Bill C-54 and ask the Industry Minister to undertake negotiations with all the provinces, to forestall any constitutional challenge that might impair the attainment of its objectives.
