Ce qui était le plus important dans mon activité professionnelle – en tant que procureur, fonctionnaire ministériel, membre de l'autorité supérieure de contrôle des comptes de la République fédérale d'Allemagne ou Secrétaire d'État dans deux gouvernements de land –, c'était l'exercice efficace et, surtout, conforme à la loi de mes missions dans l'intérêt des citoyens et de l'État.
The most important aspects of my professional experience, whether as a public prosecutor, a civil servant working in a ministry, a member of the supreme auditing authority of the Federal Republic of Germany or as State Secretary in two Land governments, concerned the efficient, and above all lawful, discharging of my responsibilities in the interests of citizens and the State.
