E’ stato un percorso lungo, che ha visto il serpente monetario, il sistema monetario europeo, la creazione dell’ecu nel 1979, il piano Delors del 1989, il trattato di Maastricht nel 1992, il rifiuto danese e il “sì” francese, allora definito minimo, senza dimenticare la crisi del Sistema monetario europeo nel 1993.
