1. Se le carenze di cui all’articolo 19, paragrafo 2, non possono essere corrette nel porto in cui è avvenuta l’ispezione, l’autorità competente dello Stato membro interessato può consentire alla nave di raggiungere senza indebito ritardo il cantiere navale idoneo più vicino al porto di fermo, scelto dal comandante e dalle autorità interessate, dove può essere dato il necessario seguito al provvedimento purché siano rispettate le condizioni stabilite dall’autorità competente dello Stato di bandiera e approvate da detto Stato membro.
1. Where deficiencies referred to in Article 19(2) cannot be rectified in the port of inspection, the competent authority of that Member State may allow the ship concerned to proceed without undue delay to the appropriate repair yard nearest to the port of detention, as chosen by the master and the authorities concerned, where follow-up action can be taken, provided that the conditions determined by the competent authority of the flag State and agreed by that Member State are complied with.
