A seguito della risoluzione del Parlamento europeo dell’11 febbraio 2010, con cui ha rifiutato il suo parere conforme alla conclusione dell’accordo interinale stipulato il 30 novembre 2009, il nuovo progetto mira, in particolare, ad affrontare le preoccupazioni relative alla protezione dei dati personali, un diritto fondamentale che, dopo l’entrata in vigore del trattato di Lisbona, ha acquisito un rilievo sempre maggiore nel quadro giuridico dell’Unione europea.
