To hold seminars and provide training on consumer topics, set up information and advice centres for consumers, instigate collective legal proceedings in defence of consumer interests, take the initiative in developing legislation protecting consumer rights, participate in consultative government bodies dealing with consumer protection, provide conciliation services and participate in conciliation committees, test consumer products and participate in inspections conducted by government bodies.
